Pezeshkian to Visit Oman on Tuesday
WANA (May 25) – The Royal Court of Oman has announced that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will arrive in the Sultanate of Oman next Tuesday for an official two-day visit.
According to the statement, the visit aims to strengthen the friendly ties and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
During the trip, the two sides are expected to discuss bilateral issues as well as regional and international matters of mutual interest.
Oman has long played the role of mediator in political disputes between Iran and the United States. While it previously facilitated prisoner exchanges between Tehran and Washington, the country is now hosting indirect talks between the two due to its regional influence and active diplomatic role.
This visit comes at a time when Oman is acting as an intermediary in ongoing negotiations between Iran and the U.S.
Earlier, Mohammadreza Farzin, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, responded to a question regarding the status of financial negotiations with Oman. He stated that Iran enjoys strong trade and banking ties with several Arab countries. He added that during the upcoming government delegation’s trip to Muscat, productive meetings will be held with officials from Oman’s central bank and financial sector, with the participation of Iranian bank representatives currently operating in Oman.
